CLASSROOM LEADERSHIP IN THE DIGITAL-MADEIRA ERA

It is a fact that in recent years the difficulty of working in a classroom has been increasing, not only because of the change in the profile of students, but also because of the difficulties involved in this new digital reality that is constantly changing and at an exponential speed. It seems that students have lost the ability to be interested in most things, that they are not curious or motivated to learn, but is this really the case or are we facing reversible symptoms with the right strategy? Factors such as the appearance of social networks (without knowing their effects), the apparently infinite availability of options for any decision (with the corresponding brain energy consumption), the socioeconomic circumstances of the country (and the planet) and its effect on family lives, or the appearance of artificial intelligence, are aspects that of course directly impact development and learning through motivation, attention, irritability or apathy. Adolescents need role models and at the present time they find their role models through social media, but they are on the other side of the screen, so their impact is rather diffuse or temporary. From the classroom you can make a difference in the present and future lives of students. You just have to learn how to do it in the 21st century from haste, fear and emotional exhaustion. By exploring the impact of a leader in a group, we can extrapolate their strategies to schools and thus turn the teacher not only into a transmitter of knowledge, but also into an example on a personal, academic and professional level. It is important to recover the importance of teachers, which seems to have been undermined, with this profession having the most direct effect on the future lives of the youngest. Making this initial effort (which undoubtedly it is) has the potential to become a facilitator of the teacher’s teaching throughout the course, as well as to improve their emotional state and increase their involvement and motivation for their profession. *This training is inspired by the impact of team leaders in the work environment applied to the classroom
