EMOCIONAL-MADEIRA INTELLIGENCE

“The path to emotional balance for students begins with adult balance.” – Manual of Emotional Regulation, 3rd Ed. (2024); world reference work in the scientific study of emotions. This eminently practical course is a response to the “global emotional recession” of the last 10 years, focused on the 5 domains of emotional intelligence that, according to professionals and recognized institutions in this field, have greater deficits in the entire population:
Social ● connection, feeling of belonging, and empathy (social identity). Emotional ● regulation, stress navigation and recovery. Future-oriented ● optimism and constructive perspective. ● Intrinsic motivation and pursuit of meaningful goals. Empathetic ● presence and attention span in the digital age. It is based on an approach validated by experts, which considers the well-being of teachers as a fundamental requirement for the success of students, with the aim of stopping the cascade of exhaustion and negative emotions reported by thousands of educators today. Throughout the 6 workshops, teachers learn new affective science strategies (such as affective neuroscience and emotion psychology) based on recent evidence, how to apply them to improve their well-being, and how to foster the creation of a thriving and emotionally intelligent learning community. To achieve this, each block begins with the updating of their own emotional competences, and transitions towards transference in the classroom through working with real problems and situations. Everything learned culminates in the development of a final Emotional Wellbeing project for the centre.
