Emotional wellbeing and AI
Emotions are the most unknown and underestimated tools of the human being. Many times we almost feel that they are a burden, that they block us and prevent us from moving forward, but in reality, when they are understood and used strategically, they are our best allies. Understanding emotional mechanisms is key not only because it is a facilitator at a professional level, but also because it is a facilitator at a personal and social level. That is, working our emotional system has a direct impact on all areas of our lives. However, the lack of knowledge and training, as well as the socio-economic and technological reality of the West are having a clearly visible effect of emotional saturation in a large part of the population, especially in those under 40-45 years of age and, of course, with a more notable effect on the youngest, since mentally they are much more vulnerable. At the classroom level, we can find more apathetic or more irritable students, and extremely saturated and, therefore, unmotivated teachers, which inevitably hinders their work due to the difficulties of a classroom and the teaching itself. It also hinders learning in the student. This course is focused on deepening the knowledge and understanding of emotional management mechanisms that reduce or eliminate the effects of Burnout on teachers. It should be noted that the ideal would be to eliminate those sources of continuous stress to regain balance, but working on emotional resilience is what is in everyone’s hands, unlike everything that is external and beyond our control. To draw up strategies it will be necessary to reach a deep understanding of the reality of the current context through an active and multifactorial analysis that gives us the bases on which to build the strategies using the behavior acquired about emotions, thinking and behavior. Being a referent in emotional management for your students has the potential to change their lives, because they may not have another referent like that in their environment, and if they do not have an example of emotional balance nearby, they may never believe that it is possible to achieve that balance and thus normalize living in the most complete apathy or in constant irritability and frustration. Teachers today face a double challenge: not only are they a source of knowledge and learning, they do not remain figures of information transmission, but they can be a real example of motivation, initiative and emotional balance in a de-virtualized world that makes any reference figure diffuse for students. This is the objective of this course: to give teachers the tools they need to face such a challenge.
